Information for Delegates Attending the Inauguration Ceremony
We are delighted that you will be joining us for our inauguration festivities next Saturday! The distinctiveness and diversity of the institutions you represent highlight the strength of our higher education system. We appreciate your taking the time to celebrate with us. Directions to the campus and additional information for delegates are outlined below.
DIRECTIONS TO NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE
From I-89, take exit 5 (Routes 202/9) toward Henniker.
From Rt 202/9, take exit 5 for Henniker/Bradford. You will see signs for New England College.
Take Rt 114 South ½ mile into Henniker.
The Simon Center parking lot is on Rt 114 (Bridge St.) past the bridge on the right.
If you are arriving on Friday, please join us for an informal gathering at Michele’s home, Cogswell House, 5:30-7:30 pm. Cogswell House is located at 95 Main Street in Henniker (from Rt 114S, take a left at the flashing light in Henniker; Cogswell is .25 mile on the left, large antique clapboard, large attached barn at rear, across from the Henniker Bed & Breakfast).
Parking for delegates will be in the Simon Center Parking lot. This lot is centrally located next to the library (where delegates will assemble) and near our guest house on Union Street.
Before and After the Inauguration
Our guest house on Union Street will be available for delegates to relax, have some light refreshments, and change clothes as necessary. The house is located across the street from the Simon Center lot at 44 Union Street. It will be open at noon on Saturday. It will be locked during the ceremony so you may leave your personal items there.
Robing and Assembly of Delegates
The delegates and the platform party will assemble in the library starting at 1:45 pm. Light snacks will be available, and some pictures will be taken before the ceremony. The inauguration will take place across the Simon Center Green in the Lee Clement Arena, and the academic procession will begin promptly at 2:30 pm.
Seating of Guests
Guest of delegates will be seated in a VIP section of the arena. If you have not already done so, please notify Melissa Stephenson (firstname.lastname@example.org) of your guests who will need seating.
There is a reception immediately following the ceremony in the Great Room of the Simon Center.
Gilmore Hall will open at 6 pm for cocktails. The dinner program will begin at 6:45 pm. Gilmore Hall is located on Bridge Street next to the Simon Center parking lot.
