Emmy Award Becomes a Reality for NEC Grad

Cris Graves '93 with Eric Doucet '96

For Cris Graves, a 1993 graduate of New England College, there were no detours, road blocks, or yields at the recent Emmy Awards. Instead, this theatre alum fast forwarded to receive a Primetime Emmy Award for her role as producer on the CBS hit reality show The Amazing Race. The award was given in the “Outstanding Reality-Competitive Program” category.

Graves, a theatre major while at New England College, has an extensive resume when it comes to producing television shows. In addition to serving as field producer or producer on several seasons of The Amazing Race, Cris has worked on such popular programs as High School Reunion, The Surreal Life, Paradise Hotel, and Temptation Island.

Since 1949, the Emmy Awards have recognized television’s leading talent in a variety of categories. The 2007 awards were held in Los Angeles on September 16.

Appearing with Cris Graves in the photograph is NEC alum Eric Doucet. Eric is a graduate of the Class of 1996 and also studied theatre at New England College.
