Join NEC Students for National Teach-In on Lincoln
NEC students will join a nationwide audience of teachers, students, and families for the “National Teach-In on Lincoln” on Thursday, February 12 from 1:30 – 4:00 p.m. The event is produced by the History Channel, and sponsored by NEC’s Department of History, The Society of Antiquaries, the Veritas Collegium, and the Center for Civic Engagement. The Teach-In will be broadcast in the Sayce Lounge and is open to all members of the NEC community and the public. Refreshments will be served.
The “National Teach-In on Lincoln” was developed to commemorate the 200th birthday of Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the United States, and to celebrate his life and legacy. The program is a live webcast from the National Archives in Washington, D.C. and features renowned historians Doris Kearns Goodwin, Harold Holzer, and Matthew Pinsker. The Teach-In is part of a larger initiative, “Give a Lincoln for Lincoln,” designed to raise funds to preserve Lincoln landmarks.
