NEC Theatre Production of Seasonal Help

Oct 22, 2009

The Carriage Theatre Ensemble at New England College presents Seasonal Help by Paul Lloyd on October 29, 30, and 31 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 1 at 3:00 p.m. Performances will be held at the Carriage Studio Theatre behind the Administration Building at 15 Main Street in Henniker. Tickets are $5 for the NEC community and $7 for general admission and may be reserved by calling the box office at 603-428-2485.

The main character in the play, Shane, takes a seasonal job at the cemetery where his father is buried. Shane’s smart aleck attitude doesn’t go over well with his new colleagues who knew his father well. Their attempts to revise Shane’s thinking are unsuccessful as well. The end result is that Shane’s first day on the job could easily be his last. Shane, who has never even visited his father’s grave, comes to terms with his pain and his grief and learns how to forgive.

Seasonal Help, written by NEC alumnus Paul Lloyd ’08, is directed by Elliot Greer with stage management by Christina Vasta. The Carriage Theatre Ensemble was first initiated by a group of students at New England College in 1991 and continues to be a student-managed company with faculty advisors.
