NEC HOLDS ANNUAL GOLF CLASSIC
New England College held its 22nd annual golf classic at the
Stonebridge Country Club in Goffstown, New Hampshire on Friday, June 5.
With a record 120 golfers participating in the event, proceeds far
exceeded the College’s symbolic goal of $35,000, or the equivalent of a
year of tuition at the College. According to Michelline Dufort, Vice
President for Advancement at New England College, “We couldn’t be more
pleased with the response from our alumni, sponsors, faculty and staff,
vendors, and friends of the College. Their generous participation
allowed us to raise just over $42,000 in gross revenue and in-kind
donations. This is truly a significant accomplishment for the College.”
Dufort
explained that proceeds from the golf classic go directly to student
scholarships. “Over 90% of the College’s students receive some type of
institutional support,” she noted. “Not only is this an excellent
opportunity for alumni and friends to connect with the College, but our
students are the real winners.”
Sponsors for the golf classic included Chartwells Dining
Services of Charlotte, North Carolina, Embanet Knowledge Group of
Toronto, Canada, and B.K. Systems of Goffstown, New Hampshire.
The
first place team members, pictured in the photo, are (l to r) Arthur
Pappas (Manchester, NH), Jim Hayes (Hopkinton, NH), Tom Gross
(Waterville Valley, NH) and John Langella (Manchester, NH). Longest
drives were made by Ryan Eickmeier (Pickering, Ontario) and Erica
Knolhoff (Chartwells Dining Services). Closest to the pin were Tom
Harte (Hampstead, NH), John Langella (Manchester, NH), Sandy Heino
(Weare, NH) and Wade Millett (Hampstead, NH).
