The Inkslinger is an annual publication of the New England College Writing Department. The essays in this edition have been selected by an editorial committee comprised of Writing Department faculty members. The essays selected for publication were chosen to best represent the excellence and diversity found within the first year writing program at New England College.

Bill Preble
The 2011 recipient of the Robert A. Kilgore Faculty Award is Dr. William Preble, Professor of Education. Dr. Hilton Hallock, Vice President for Academic Affairs, presented the award to Professor Preble at the 2011 Commencement of New England College. “Bill is recognized for his thoughtful leadership, engaging rapport with students, and excellent teaching,” stated Dr. Hallock, “He expects the best from people and organizations, and uses his talents to spark innovation and empower ownership and achievement.”
