don’t understand something, anything that affects classwork)
• Need information (How do I…? Where can I go for…?)
• Want to drop a class, withdraw, change a major, change
sections
• Homesick
• Trapped in an unhealthy relationship
• Just need to talk
• Afraid to tell your parents you are failing a class
• Want to know about financial aid or jobs on campus
• Want to study abroad
• Depressed or anxious
• Transfer credit questions

1. Remember: Your advisor is your best resource for campus
information. He or she can point you in the right direction.
2. Always leave a number and a message so your advisor can
call you back. If you don’t hear back within 24 hours, call
Pathways for help at x2218.
3. In some cases your advisor may need to eventually refer you
to some other department. Even though this may be the case,
begin your search for information and solutions with your
advisor so that he or she is aware of what is happening.
4. If at any time you wish to change your advisor, contact the
Advising Center. The process is simple.
