Treasures of Greece

As its mission states, "New England College emphasizes experiential learning as an essential component in the development of an enduring academic community."  What better way to study art and culture, travel writing, the business of tourism, and the function of sport in society, than by traveling to Greece?

Hydra2.jpgIn January 2011, Professors Alger, Huckins, MacNeil, McDermott, Patridge and Nadelman led students on a journey worthy of Homer’s epics. With travels through Athens, Olympia and Cape Sounion, students ascended the mythical mountain perches of Greek gods and their temples. They came face-to-face with ancient relics, stood where the first Olympic athletes competed and visited the site where the Oracle once foretold the future. Greece has much to offer, from its legendary past to its dynamic future, and NEC students explored it all!
