OFF THE PRESS
Also deserving recognition, along with the talented and published
writers of NEC, are several noteworthy publications produced by members
of the community. First year writing students have an outlet for their
creative work in the publication Inkslinger. This annual
review of poetry and short works serves to enhance students’ enjoyment
of the writing process and to support them through what is for many,
their first encounter with serious writing.
The Henniker
Review,
edited and published exclusively by NEC students, features not only the
work of the NEC community but has recently expanded to accept
submissions from across the country. Another annual offering, this
publication is a professionally produced literary journal that is
currently in its 37th year. The first editor of the Henniker Review
was Don Melander, Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs. His
oldest daughter, Lisa, also served as the editor when she was a student
at NEC. Faculty members Maura MacNeil and Mark Watman currently serve
as advisors to the publication.
Celebrating its fifth edition
this past fall, Entelechy International-A Journal of Contemporary
Ideas,
was co-founded by Professors Sylva Boyadjian-Haddad and Maura MacNeil.
The two have served as Editor-in Chief and Editor respectively since
2002 and have contributed their own work to the publication. Entelechy prides itself in encouraging innovative and experimental works and
appeals to an international audience.
