Dr. Aaron Daniels publishes first of two-volume series
Looking to scare up a little magic this Halloween? In the first of a two-volume series, Imaginal Reality, Volume One: Journey to the Voids, Dr. Aaron Daniels takes a look at our everyday rituals and how embracing their power can transform our lives.
Daniels goes door-to-door from Existential Phenomenology to Jungian thought to explore a range of concepts from life’s limitations, impassable voids, and archetypes, to how we see life rather than what we actually see, and how that vision shapes our existence. Mixing them into a cauldron of bubbling thought, Daniels stirs up his own view of “the imagination of magic.” But don’t let the terminology trick you. Daniels draws on familiar contemporary manifestations of magic from Harry Potter to Harry Dresden and the supernatural powers of our popular super heroes to illustrate his point. Through his writing, the author, Associate Professor of Psychology at New England College, sends us away with a treat – the story of his own journey through religion, spirituality, wisdom traditions, meditation, and ritual, as an indication that the search for imaginal reality is not an aimless wandering but a journey that is common to us all.
Imaginal Reality, Volume One: Journey to the Voids, was published by Aeon Books. Volume two is scheduled for release in December 2011.
Dr. Aaron Baily Daniels holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and has conducted extensive research into a variety of alternative religions including Witchcraft, Wicca, Paganism, NeoPaganism, Satanism, Ritual Magic, Thelema, The Occult, Supernatural, and Esotericism.
But just in case you don’t have a ghost of an idea what this is all about, join Dr. Aaron Daniels for a reading and book signing on Friday, October 28 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the New England College Gallery. The event is co-sponsored by the Knowledge, Growth, and Action Collegium at New England College and the New England College Gallery.
