Register for Courses
Pathways-Advising will develop your first semester schedule based upon
your responses to a course selection survey.
Once complete, Pathways will email you with instructions for how to view your schedule. Please take this survey as soon as possible. The more information we have, the better able we are to build a
schedule that fulfills your needs and interests. Our general education courses are titled the Liberal Core Curriculum (LCC), with the theme of "On Being Human."
Generally, your first semester schedule will include a first-year student seminar, College Writing I, a Liberal Arts and Science (LAS) seminar, a course in your major (if you have chosen one) and/or an elective. If you have selected a major you can view our current curriculum worksheets, linked here, to get a better idea of what a typical schedule might include. (Keep in mind that classes do fill so not all courses will be available your first semester.)
If you are a transfer student, your schedules will be created in consultation with Pathways-Advising. Advising staff will contact you when it is time to register. Be sure to submit your most up-to-date official transcripts to the Admissions Office.
In addition, all incoming students are required to take a Mathematics Placement Test (MPT). This will assess your abilities in mathematics and better guide us when it is time to select a mathematics course (not necessarily taken during your first semster at NEC.) The test can be taken online prior to your arrival, or we will hold an exam on campus during Fall orientation. Once you receive your computer access information you will receive an e-mail with more details about the MPT.
If you have any questions about course
registration, please contact Pathways-Advising. They are available to answer any scheduling questions and
can be contacted at 603-428-2218.

NEC
is a residential campus with a focus on community living and learning. In order
to promote community and help students create their “home away from home,” NEC
requires all students to live on campus for three years or 6 academic
semesters. The goal of our residential life program is to provide a safe
and nurturing environment that supports and enhances classroom learning through
co-curricular programming, faculty involvement, leadership training, and
academic support. We have two residence halls set aside for first-year
students: Colby and West. These residence halls exclusively house our
first-year students and offer students an opportunity to study together and
build lifelong friendships. The residence halls are staffed with full
time professional Area Coordinators, Graduate Hall Directors, and upper-class
Resident Advisors. The Residential Life staff works to foster a sense of
community in each residence hall and works to connect students with activities
and events on campus. Residential Life staff assist all students to help
make the transition from high school to college be as seamless as possible.
Housing assignments and roommates will be made once you have submitted your
housing contract. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Residential
Life and Housing at 603-428-2242 or email us at reslife@nec.edu. We look
forward to meeting you and having you join our vibrant residential community!

Submit your Health Records Paperwork
New England College offers a
variety of health services for our students. We have a full-time nurse
who is trained to offer treatment in areas ranging from the common
cold, to nutrition counseling. Nurse assessments, and treatment for a
minor illness or injury, are available on a walk-in basis. The Health
and Wellness Center can also manage preexisting or chronic illness
through partnership with your home primary care provider. If you require
regular laboratory work, testing can be done on-site and results can be
forwarded to the attention of your home doctor for review.
The following health information is required. These forms may be found at the top of this page:
• A Physical Examination Form completed by your personal physician.
• An Admission Health Report Form completed by the student.
• A complete Immunization Record completed by your personal physician.
For
your safety, and the health of the college community, we must have this
information on file before you arrive on campus. Failure to provide
this information in a timely manner will restrict your ability to live in
the residence halls, or make use of the Health and Wellness Center. Physical Examination Form | Health & Counseling Report Form

school to college is a successful one. In addition to helping you feel
at home as a first-year student, Summer Orientation is designed to

Apply for Financial Aid / Finalize your Student Financial Services steps (SFS)
Financial
Aid can be one of the more intimidating tasks to complete as an
incoming student. Always keep in mind that our SFS counselors are only a
phone call or email away. If you would like to meet with a staff member
in person, please contact SFS by phone (603-428-2226) or email
(sfs@nec.edu) us to setup an appointment.
Counselors are assigned by students' last names, as follows:
A-G is KelciKoonce
H-M is Mike Lewandowski
N-Z is SaraFace
Receive your Technology Log-in Information
All freshman residence halls, classrooms, and the surrounding
environment are part of a wireless network. That means you can be
basically anywhere on campus with your laptop and get online!
After you make your enrollment deposit, there are three services you can start using right away.
These are:
MyNEC Account
NEC E-mail Account
NEC Blackboard Account
Each of
these services and password(s) are described in detail in your
technology admissions package, which is sent in mid-May. This information is important
and should be stored in a safe place and memorized! All communications
from the College will eventually go through your NEC email, so it is essential to switch to using that as your primary email as soon as you have made your deposit.
If you (or your family) have any questions not answered in the materials or on the TechNEC web site, please do not hesitate to contact us. You can reach our help services by emailing helpdesk@nec.edu or by calling 603-428-2350.
