Due to our robust merit scholarship program, and the ability to enroll highly talented international students, the College’s international student population has a strong tradition of success. This past academic year our international students achieved an average GPA of 3.28 (on 4.0 scale), which is .51 above the College’s overall average. New England College’s international students are recognized as leaders on campus, not only for their academic achievements, but also for their proactive engagement in the College community. The International Student Association (ISA) on campus is one of the most prestigious and active clubs in the community. Each semester ISA promotes international awareness through international nights in the Simon Center, field trips to museums and cultural events, fund raisers for struggling countries, an online web forum through NEC’s Blackboard Software, and annual trips overseas to third world countries, such as Nicaruaga and Honduras, to support and aid local orphanages.
