Below are some answers to the questions most frequently asked to the Office of Admission about transferring to New England College.

How many credits can be transferred into NEC?
Students can transfer in a maximum of 90 credits. All students must successfully complete 30 credits in residency. Twelve of those 30 must be in your major.

Where do transfer students live?
Transfer Students are given housing in the upper classman housing. There are several different options to choose from: dorms, suites, or small houses (typically single rooms in the small houses). There have been occasions that transfer students with 60 or more transfer credits have been given permission to live off campus.

Can transfer students play sports?
The answer is yes. However, you would need to contact the coach of the team you are interested in, and determine your eligibility. This eligibility is based on the NCAA standards.

How do transfer students register for classes?
The Pathways Center will assist you in selecting your classes based on your transfer credit evaluation. Course registration does not take place until after an enrollment deposit ($300) has been made. Once the deposit is in place the Pathways Center will be able to assist you in selecting your classes.

Who will be my Academic Advisor?
All transfer students are assigned to an advisor in their selected major.

Who do I contact if I have any questions about the transfer process?
Jeff Pruyne is the Transfer Admission Coordinator, and he will be able to answer any questions you may have. He is also the person that will provide you with your initial transfer credit evaluation. He can be contacted at (603) 428-2225 or (800) 521-7642 and also by email: jpruyne@nec.edu.
