Transfer FAQ's

How many credits can be transferred into New England College?

Students can transfer in a maximum of 90 credits. All students must successfully complete 30 credits in residency. Twelve of those 30 must be in your major.  Please visit the Transfer Credit Evaluation page for more information.

Where do transfer students live?

Transfer Students are given housing in the upper-class residence halls. There are several different options to choose from: doubles, suites, or small houses (typically single rooms in the small houses). Transfer students with 60 or more transfer credits are allowed to live off campus.

Can transfer students play sports?

Yes. However, you would need to contact the coach of the team you are interested in playing for to determine your eligibility. This eligibility is based on NCAA standards.

How do transfer students register for classes?

The Pathways Center will assist you in selecting your classes based on your transfer credit evaluation. Course registration does not take place until after an enrollment deposit ($300) has been made. Once the deposit is in place, the Pathways Center will be able to assist you in selecting your classes.

Who will be my Academic Advisor?

All transfer students are assigned to an advisor. This person is typically a professor from your selected major.

Who do I contact if I have any questions about the transfer process?

John Doucette is the Transfer Admission Coordinator, and he will be able to answer any questions you have.  He is also the person that will provide you with your initial credit transfer evaluation. He can be contacted at (603) 428-2225 or (800) 521-7642 and also by email: jdoucette@nec.edu.
