New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire was founded in 1946 to serve the educational needs of the service men and women returning home at the close of World War II.  The G.I. bill, introduced at the time to finance post-secondary education, revolutionized the educational process, created a wealth of opportunities for our veterans, and contributed to what many have described as ‘the greatest generation.”

Honoring the principle upon which the College was founded and the service of the men and women of the armed forces, New England College has instituted a comprehensive veterans program that helps veterans and active reservists take full advantage of their military education benefits.  We are a Yellow Ribbon Program College and can also offer additional assistance to Pre-9/11 eligible veterans with our unique military scholarship program (Russel Durgin Military Scholarship) named in honor of one of our own local heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice on the battlefield in Afghanistan.  It is our commitment to serve the educational needs of those who serve our country that has earned us the label of being a "military friendly school" by the G.I. Jobs magazine.

Student Story
Adam Hennick
Adam Hennick, a Montréal, Quebec, Canada native, first visited New England College (NEC) about five years ago when his older brother was considering enrollment. Adam’s older brother did not ultimately enroll at NEC; however, Adam left campus that day with a couple of tangible souvenirs, a Men’s Ice Hockey t-shirt and a puck, as well as a valuable intangible memento – a favorable and lasting impression of NEC.
