New England College men’s cross country placed eighth overall and the women placed fifteenth on Saturday in Smith College’s 5K run.


 

Leading the way for the men was Jesse Caprotti (W. Shokan, N.Y.) who finished the race in 18:28 good enough for 32nd place.  NEC’s Mike Harrison (Newbury, N.H.) finished the race 41st in a time of 18:43 and Mike Coulombe (Strafford, N.H.) finished 77th with a time of 19:42.  Rounding out the men were Andrew Nelson (Nottingham, N.H.) who finished 82nd and Andrew Teixeira (Grafton, Mass.) who finished 100th overall.

 

The top NEC runner on the women’s side was senior Elizabeth Bohn (Dover, N.H.) who finished the 5K race in a time of 26:59 good enough for 122nd place.  NEC’s Amber Ruscoe (Newtown, Conn.) finished 129th, while Jessica Chisholm (Stoughton, Mass.) finished 144th and Hollie Wilson (Burlington, Vt.) finished 144th overall.

 

The Pilgrims return to action on Saturday, Sept. 20 when they travel to UMass-Dartmouth for an 11:15 a.m. race.
