Carnaroli and Roux pick up TCCC honors
Two New England College field hockey players picked up Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) honors for their performance during the TCCC Playoffs.
Sophomore forward Kate Carnaroli (Bellingham, Mass.) was named TCCC Offensive Player of the Week. Carnaroli scored the lone goal in the Pilgrims’ 1-0 win over #1 seeded Endicott College in the TCCC Championship game. Carnaroli’s unassisted tally in the 60th minute secured NEC’s seventh straight TCCC championship.
Junior goalkeeper Mary Roux (Auburn, Mass.) was named TCCC Defensive Player of the Week. Roux made eight saves and recorded her fourth shutout of the season in NEC’s 1-0 win over Endicott in the TCCC Championship. Roux also picked up the win in net posting four saves in NEC’s 4-2 semifinal win over Salve Regina on Wednesday.
