Cross Country has great showing at WNEC
New England College men’s and women’s cross country teams each finished well at the Western New England College Invitational held Saturday in Springfield, Mass. The men’s team placed seventh out of 16 teams, while the women placed thirteenth out of 20 teams.
Leading the way for the men was Jesse Caprotti (W. Shokan, N.Y.) who finished the 8K race in a career-best 27:45 good enough for 16th place. NEC’s Mike Coulombe (Strafford, N.H.) also finished with a career-best time of 28:51 good enough for 22nd place. NEC’s Mike Harrison (Newbury, N.H.) finished in a time of 30:32, while Andrew Teixeira (Grafton, Mass.) finished in 63rd with a time of 31:21.
The top NEC runner on the women’s side was Brooke Fallon (Dennis, Mass.) who ran a career-best 5K in a time of 21:03 finishing in 16th place. NEC’s Elizabeth Bohn (Dover, N.H.) finished 67th with a time of 23:30 and Amber Ruscoe (Newtown, Conn.) finished 79th with a time of 23:55.
The Pilgrims return to action on Saturday, Oct. 25 when they travel to Gordon College for a 10:45 a.m. start time.
