Cross Country races at Williams
New England College men’s and women’s cross country teams each placed 18th overall on Saturday at the Williams College Purple Valley Classic held at Mt. Greylock Regional High School in Williamstown, Mass.
Leading the way for the men was Jesse Caprotti (W. Shokan, N.Y.) who finished the 8K race in a time of 30:36 good enough for 148th place. NEC’s Mike Coulombe (Strafford, N.H.) finished 161st with a time of 31:08 and Andrew Nelson (Nottingham, N.H.) finished in a time of 32:40. Rounding out the men were Andrew Teixeira (Grafton, Mass.) who finished 195th overall and Christian Cyr (Upper Kingsclear, N.B.) who finished 205th.
The top NEC runner on the women’s side was Tivan Campeanu (Derry, N.H.) who finished the 6K race in a time of 29:56 good enough for 164th place. NEC’s, Amber Ruscoe (Newtown, Conn.) finished 171st, Elizabeth Bohn (Dover, N.H.) finished 273rd , while Jessica Chisholm (Stoughton, Mass.) finished 175th and Bethany Forshaw (Waterford, Conn.) finished 179th overall.
The Pilgrims return to action on Saturday, Oct. 4 when they host their first meet of the season on the campus of New England College at 9:15 a.m.
