The NEC Cross Country teams were hard at work on Saturday as they competed in the Early Bird Cross Country Meet at St. Joseph’s College in Standish, Maine.

For the women, Brooke Fallon (Dennis, Mass.) finished the two-mile run with a time of 14:11. Her teammate Hollie Wilson (Burlington, Vt.) followed shortly placing 25th with a time of 16:35. The women stuck together with Amber Ruscoe (Newton, Conn.) finishing 28th with a time of 16:55, Jessica Chisholm (Stoughton, Mass.) finishing 29th with a time of 17:04, and Elizabeth Bohn running the race in 17:05. As a team the Pilgrims finished the meet in third place.

The men’s cross country was lead by Mike Harrison (Newbury, N.H.) and Jesse Caprotti (West Shokan, N.Y.) who finished the 5K with time of 18:35, and 18:52. Andrew Nelson (Nottingham, N.H.) would be the next Pilgrim to cross the finish line with a time of 19:47. The men would spread across the field after that, finishing fourth as a team.

This coming Saturday, Sept. 13 NEC Cross Country will be competing at the Smith College Invitational in North Hampton, Mass.
