Cross Country runs well at Gordon
New England College men’s and women’s cross country teams each finished strong at the Gordon College Invite meet held Saturday in Gordon, Mass. The men’s team placed second out of six teams, while the women placed fourth out of eight teams.
Leading the way for the men was Jesse Caprotti (W. Shokan, N.Y.) who finished the 8K race in 28:10 a fifth place finish overall. NEC’s Mike Coulombe (Strafford, N.H.) finished right behind Caprotti in sixth place with a time of 28:25. NEC’s Mike Harrison (Newbury, N.H.) finished in a time of 29:46 which put him in thirteenth place. Collectively the men’s team scored 70 points putting them in second place in the meet.
The top NEC runner on the women’s side was Brooke Fallon (Dennis, Mass.) who finished with a time of 20:38 placing eleventh overall. Following her was Hollie Wilson (Burlington, Vt.) who placed 44th with a time of 24:26 and Jessica Chisholm (Stoughton, Mass.) who finished 46th with a time of 25:13. Together the NEC Women’s cross country scored 143 points for fourth place.
Look for NEC to compete again at the TCCC Championship Meet which will be held at Western New England College on November 1.
