Johnson named TCCC Defensive Player of the Week
New England College field hockey defender Jamie Johnson (Lynnfield, Mass.) has been named The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Defensive Player of the Week for her performance throughout the week of Oct. 20-Oct. 26.
Johnson helped the Pilgrims to a 2-0 week allowing just one goal in a pair of TCCC games. Johnson was impressive in a key 1-0 win over Nichols College on Thursday which gave the Pilgrims sole possession of second place in the TCCC and helped hold Western New England to just one goal in a 4-1 win on Saturday. Johnson is part of an impressive Pilgrim defense which currently leads the nation in save percentage with an .882 save percentage on the season.
