Leppanen named ECAC East Rookie of the Week
New England College first-year defenseman Jarkko Leppanen (Tampere, Finland) was named ECAC East Rookie of the Week for his performance this past weekend.
Leppanen totaled four points in two wins for the Pilgrims this weekend. In Friday’s win over Bowdoin Leppanen scored a short-handed goal putting the Pilgrims up 2-1 in the second period and also recorded two assists, including one on the game-winner. In Saturday’s 4-3 win over Colby Leppanen scored the opening goal of the game for either team scoring just 35 seconds into the second period.
