Lyons named player of the week
New England College women’s soccer forward Debbie Lyons (Wilmington, Mass.) has been named The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Player of the Week for her performance throughout the week of Sept. 8 – Sept. 13.
For the week Lyons finished with four points on two goals, including one game-winner. On Thursday Lyons rebounded in a shot 6:39 into overtime to lift the Pilgrims past in-state rival Rivier College 2-1. On Saturday Lyons netted the first goal of the game against TCCC opponent Salve Regina leading the Pilgrims to the 2-1 in their first conference game of the season.
