Men's Cross Country finishes first, women third
New England College men’s and women’s cross country hosted the Pilgrim Pride Open Saturday. The men’s team finished first overall as the women finished third as a team.
Leading the way for the men was Jesse Caprotti (W. Shokan, N.Y.) who finished the 8K race in a time of 28:46 good enough for 2nd place. NEC’s Michael Harrison (Newbury, N.H.) finished in 4th place with a time of 29:43 and Mike Coulombe (Strafford, N.H.) finished 6th overall with a time of 30:04. Also scoring for the Pilgrims was and Andrew Nelson (Nottingham, N.H.) who finished in 7th place and Andrew Teixeira (Grafton, Mass.) who finished 13th.
The top NEC runner on the women’s side was Brooke Fallon (Dennis, Mass.) who finished the 5K race in 2nd place in a time of 21:24. NEC’s Elizabeth Bohn (Dover, N.H.) finished 12th, while Hollie Wilson (Burlington, Vt.) finished 15th and Jessica Chisholm (Stoughton, Mass.) finished 16th overall.
The Pilgrims return to action on Saturday, Oct. 11 when they travel to Westfield State College for an 11:00 a.m. meet.
