NEC men's ice hockey players Mark Ehl and Ron Baia each picked up weekly honors this week from the ECAC East.

New England College men’s ice hockey player Ron Baia (West Haven, Conn.) was named ECAC East Goaltender of the Week.  Baia picked up two wins in net this weekend, including a huge conference win over Southern Maine.  On Friday night Baia picked up 19 saves as the Pilgrims edged Southern Maine 3-2.  Baia followed that performance with 26 saves in NEC’s 5-2 win over Salem State College on Saturday.

NEC men’s ice hockey forward Mark Ehl (N. Vancouver, B.C.) was named ECAC East Player of the Week for his performance this past weekend.  Ehl finished the weekend with six points, including two goals and four assists.  Ehl had a hand in all three of NEC’s goals in Friday night’s 3-2 win over Southern Maine scoring one and assisting the other two. In Saturday’s 5-2 win over Salem State Ehl netted his team-high 21st goal and also picked up two assists.
