Men's Lacrosse returns to post-season play
New England College men’s lacrosse will return to post-season play after a two year absence. The Pilgrims have earned the #7 seed heading into The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Tournament finishing the regular season with an overall record of 4-11 and a conference record of 3-6.
NEC will face off against the #2 seeded Western New England College Golden Bears in quarterfinal action on Tuesday afternoon in Springfield, Mass. The Golden Bears finished their season with an overall record of 10-4 and a conference record of 8-1 and are currently ranked #16 in the nation.
The two teams met up during the regular season back on April 12 at Keene State. The Golden Bears would outscore the Pilgrims 9-0 in the opening half and tack on five goals in the third and a goal in the fourth cruising to the 15-4 victory. NEC’s Damian Carey scored two goals for the Pilgrims and Kyle Burke finished with two assists.
NEC’s last win came on Saturday, April 19 when the Pilgrims beat conference opponent Curry College 10-6. The Golden Bears are currently riding a three-game winning streak including their last game, a 12-4 win over Springfield College on Friday, April 25.
