NEC Basketball Players named to NHBCA Second Team

Three New England College basketball players have been named to the New Hampshire Division III Basketball Coaches Association Second Team.


 

On the women’s side NEC senior guard Ashley Hutton (Lebanon, N.H.) picked up second team honors.  Hutton led the Pilgrims in almost every offensive statistics including points per game averaging 15.5 per game and made three-pointers finishing the season with 69.  Hutton led the Pilgrims in scoring 13 games this season, including a career-high 29 points in a loss to Endicott. In addition to this honor Hutton was named to the Commonwealth Coast Conference All-Honorable Mention Team.

 

Joining Hutton on the women’s side was senior guard LaShawnda Wilson. Wilson (Burlington, Vt.) finished the season second on the team in scoring averaging 14.5 points per game.  In addition to her scoring Wilson led the team averaging 8.9 rebounds per game and finished the season with a team-high 94 assists. 

 

On the men’s side sophomore forward Shane Hennessey (Plymouth, England) picked up second team honors.  Hennessey led the Pilgrims in both scoring and rebounding this season averaging 14.1 points per game and 9.0 rebounds per game.  Hennessey led the Pilgrims in scoring nine games this season and recorded nine double-doubles on the season.
