NEC Field Hockey cruises to 9-0 win

New England College field hockey would record nine unanswered goals en route to a 9-0 win over conference opponent Regis College Tuesday afternoon in Weston. With the win the Pilgrims improve to 6-3 overall and 2-0 in the conference. The loss drops the Pride to 0-6 on the season and 0-2 in the TCCC.


The Pilgrims would waste no time as Miranda TInsman and Kate Carnaroli would net unassisted goals putting the NEC up 2-0.  The Pilgrims offense would continue to dominate play in the opening half putting up four more scores, including goals by Samantha Escobar, Khatianna Evans and Emily Kuchta.

 

NEC would tack on three goals in the second half of play with Tinsman scoring twice in the opening six minutes and first-year player Hilary O’Brien would record her first collegiate goal at the 55:18 mark giving the Pilgrims the 9-0 win.

Leading the way for NEC was Tinsman who finished with three goals and Escobar who scored twice and dished out an assist.

NEC would finish the game out shooting Regis 46-2 on the afternoon.  Picking up the win in goal for the Pilgrims was Mary Roux.
