NEC Men to Battle Salem State in Semifinal

New England College men’s ice hockey advanced to the ECAC East Semifinals by beating the University of Southern Maine 5-2 this weekend in one of four quarterfinal games. The #4 seeded Pilgrims (16-7-3) will travel to Norwich University to take on the #6 seeded Salem State College Vikings (15-10-1) on Saturday, March 8 at 6:00 p.m.


Back on Feb. 3 the Pilgrims pulled out the 5-2 win over Salem State at home in their only meeting of the season. The Pilgrims are currently riding a three game winning streak with a record of 6-3-0 in the month of February. The Vikings upset the #3 seeded Castleton State Spartans last week in the quarterfinals beating them 6-3.  The winner of Saturday’s semifinal will advance to the ECAC East Championship scheduled for Sunday, Mar. 9  at Norwich University and will take on the winner of the other semifinal game between the #7 seeded UMass-Boston Beacons and the #1 seeded Norwich University Cadets , game time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
