NEC Names Vazquez Women's Soccer Coach
New England College Director of Athletics Lori Runksmeier is pleased to announce the hiring of Paul Vazquez as the new women’s soccer coach.
"We are very excited to have Paul Vazquez become the next head coach of our women's soccer program” Runksmeier said. “I know Paul will be a great fit with New England College and I believe he will take the program to new levels. Coach Vazquez has a tremendous rapport with student-athletes and I look forward to working with him."
Over the past four seasons Vazquez has served as an assistant coach with the New England College men’s soccer program. Over four seasons Vazquez has helped lead the Pilgrims to an overall record of 40-27-7, four straight TCCC post season appearances and an appearance in the ECAC New England Tournament. Vazquez also served as an assistant women’s ice hockey coach and coached the junior varsity hockey team at NEC last season.
Vazquez also serves as the head coach for the New Hampshire Under-16 Olympic Development Program and the Seacoast United Under-18 Soccer Club. Paul currently holds a USSF C license and an NSCAA National Goalkeeping Diploma.
Vazquez is a graduate of Canisius College where he was a two year member of both the soccer and the ice hockey team.
Vazquez inherits a squad that went 6-9-2 overall last season and is looking to get the Pilgrims back into the TCCC Playoffs after a one-year hiatus.
