New England College women’s ice hockey will enter the ECAC East Playoffs as the #3 seed finishing the regular season with an overall record of 13-10-1 and an ECAC East record of 10-8-1. NEC will host the sixth seeded University of Southern Maine Huskies who finished their regular season with a record of 7-17-1 and 7-11-1 in ECAC East action.


New England College will host Southern Maine on Saturday, March 1 at 2:30 p.m. in one of four ECAC East Quarterfinal games scheduled for that day.  The winner will advance to the ECAC Semifinals scheduled for Saturday, March 8 at the highest remaining seed.

 

The Pilgrims split with the Huskies in their two regular season match-ups just this past weekend.  On Friday evening Southern Maine scored two unanswered goals in the third period to edge the Pilgrims 3-2 in Gorham.  On Saturday evening NEC scored four goals in both the first and second period to lift them past Southern Maine 10-2 in Henniker.

 

Tickets for Saturday’s quarterfinal game will be available at the door.
