Pouliot & Harvey pick up ECAC East honors
New England College first-year forward Jim Pouliot (Hooksett, N.H.) was named ECAC East Rookie of the Week and sophomore goalie Aaron Harvey (Milford, Nova Scotia) was named ECAC East Goalie of the week for their performance this past weekend.
Pouliot led the Pilgrims past Castleton State College on Friday evening having a hand in all three of NEC’s goals. Pouliot assisted the first Pilgrim goal and scored the game-tying goal with just 30 seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime. In overtime Pouliot came through with his second goal of the night netting the game-winner with just 1:50 remaining in overtime to lift NEC past Castleton 3-2.
Harvey led the Pilgrims to a 2-0-0 start this weekend as NEC edged Castleton 3-2 in overtime on Friday and shutout Skidmore College 2-0 on Saturday. In Friday’s game Harvey made 17 total saves, including three in overtime. In Saturday’s shutout win Harvey held the Thoroughbreds scoreless and totaled 33 saves on the evening.
