Wilson named TCCC Player of the Week
New England College senior guard LaShawnda Wilson has been named the The Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week for her performance this past weekend.
Wilson opened the season with back-to-back double-doubles lifting the Pilgrims to a 2-0 start this season. For the weekend Wilson averaged 22 points, 13 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game and was named to the Regis Classic All-Tournament Team. In Saturday’s 80-71 overtime win over Framingham State Wilson tallied a career-high 22 points and 16 rebounds, while also burying the buzzer-beater that sent the game into overtime. In Sunday’s 70-65 win over Mt. Ida Wilson scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
