Senior Emliy Tanguay netted a goal in her final regular season game as a Pilgrim, helping them past visiting Colby 3-2 Saturday evening.

Three different players would net goals, including two seniors in their final regular season home game as the New England College Pilgrims lifting edged the visiting Colby College Mules 3-2 Saturday evening. With the win the Pilgrims improve to 11-10-2 overall, while the loss evens the Mules to 9-9-3 on the season.
The two teams would battle through a scoreless opening period of play as Colby College would dominate much of the offense out shooting NEC 21-10. The Pilgrims would break the scoreless tie early in the second period as senior Emily Tanguay (Manchester, N.H.) would fire in a shot from in front of the net at the 5:56 mark. Colby would respond quickly as Jennifer Caruso (Darien, Conn.) would put in a loose puck off the goalie pads just under a minute later knotting the game at 1-1.
The Pilgrims would regain the lead at the 15:06 mark as senior Sarah Tracey (Aurora, Ontario) would convert on an NEC power-play assisted by Jana Schneider (Elbridge, N.Y.) Again, Colby would have an answer as Rebecca Julian (South Windsor, Conn.) would score assisted by Laura Anning (Ingramport, Nova Scotia) and Stephanie Scarpato (Osterville, Mass.) at the 16:04 mark.
NEC would tack on one more goal in the second period as Allison Roy (Billerica, Mass.) would intercept a pass and net a break-away goal with just over two minutes remaining giving the Pilgrims the 3-2 edge heading into the final period.
The Mules would have several opportunities in the final period, including four power-play opportunities but the Pilgrims defense would hold strong edging Colby 3-2.
Picking up the shutout win in net for the Pilgrims was Teraysa White (Belgrade, Maine) who finished with an impressive 42 saves. In net for Colby College was Lacy Brown (Freeport, Maine) who finished with 22 saves on the evening.
