New England College women’s lacrosse would muter just six goals losing to conference opponent Roger Williams University 17-6 Saturday afternoon in North Dartmouth, Mass. The loss drops the Pilgrims to 3-6 overall and evens their TCCC record to 2-2.


 

The two teams would battle closely in the opening 13 minutes of the game as the Pilgrims would trail just 3-2 at the 16:47 mark. Roger Williams would open their lead up scoring the next four goals building a 7-2 lead with just under five minutes remaining in the first half.  NEC’s Chelsea Bennett would score a goal at the 3:04 mark to cut the lead to 7-3 but Roger Williams would score the final two goals of the half to head into intermission up 9-3.

 

The two teams would exchange goals early in the second half before the Hawks would use a 6-1 run in the final 13:55 of the game to capture the 17-6 victory. 

 

Leading the way for NEC was Casey McFarland who finished the afternoon with three goals and Emily Tanguay who netted two goals. In goal for NEC was Alexandra DiRico who finished with eight saves.
