New England College women’s lacrosse ended their 2008 campaign on Tuesday evening losing to TCCC powerhouse Endicott College 25-24 in TCCC Quarterfinal action in Beverly. With the loss the Pilgrims finish their season 4-12 overall and 4-6 in conference play.


 

The #1 seeded Endicott College Gulls would start the scoring first netting the first four goals of the game in the opening eight minutes building a 4-0 lead early.  NEC would get on the board as Lauren Bickford and Emily Tanguay would each score cutting the Gull lead to 4-2. The two teams would continue to battle back-and-forth through the remainder of the first half as the Pilgrims would trail just 8-10 heading into intermission.

 

The Gulls would pull away in the second half of action as they would outscore the Pilgrims 6-2 in the opening 10 minutes building a 16-10 lead.  The Pilgrims would score a couple goals midway through the half but the Gulls would net the final six goals cruising to the 25-14 victory.

 

Leading the way for NEC was Emily Tanguay who finished with eight goals.  NEC’s Jodie Dresser scored two goals and picked up an assist, while Brandi Vittum finished with two goals for the Pilgrims.

 

In net for NEC was Alexandra DiRico who finished with 22 saves.
