New England College women’s lacrosse could muster just two goals losing the #7 ranked Babson College Beavers 18-2 Tuesday evening in Babson Park. The loss snaps a two game winning streak for the Pilgrims who fall to 2-3 overall. The win is the sixth straight for the Beavers who remain undefeated this season.

The Pilgrims would strike first as junior Emily Tanguay (Manchester, N.H.) would net her team-high thirteenth goal of the season just 1:08 into the opening half.  Babson would answer big out shooting NEC 28-9 in the first half and scoring the next 11 goals to take the 11-1 lead.  NEC’s Jodie Dresser (Keene, N.H.) would convert on a free position shot with just 37 seconds remaining in the first half to put the Pilgrims down 2-11 heading into the second half.

Babson continued to control much of the tempo in the second half as the Beavers would hold the edge in shots out shooting NEC 13-3 and net seven unanswered goals cruising to the 18-2 victory.

In goal for the Pilgrims was Alexandria DiRico (Limerick, Pa.) who finished the afternoon with 16 saves.
