New England College women’s soccer fell to the league-leading Endicott College Gulls 0-4 Saturday evening in Beverly. With the loss the Pilgrims even their overall record to 7-7-1 and drop to 5-4-1 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) play. With the win the Gulls remain undefeated in TCCC action improving to 10-0-1 and move to 11-2-2 overall.

The two teams would battle through the opening 19 minutes scoreless before Endicott’s Caitlin Flynn would intercept a pass and score an unassisted goal putting the Gulls up 1-0 at the 19:06 mark. The Pilgrim defense would battle back as the Gulls would record 19 shots in the opening period but NEC keeper Kerry Hughes (Wallkill, N.Y.) would make eight saves keeping Endicott to just the one goal.

The Gulls would break away in the second period as they would score three goals within three minutes of each other, including two in the 69th minute, building a 4-0 lead.  The Pilgrim offense would try to get something started in the second recording four shots on goal but they would be unable to find the net as the Gulls would cruise to the 4-0 victory.
