The Friends of the NEC Library will welcome award-winning author David Macaulay to New England College on Wednesday, September 15 at 7:00 p.m. in
the Simon Center Great Room.
David studied and received a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design, but has never worked as an architect. Instead, he discovered and pursued a different passion - writing books. David’s first book, Cathedral, was published in 1973, followed by City, Castle, Pyramid, Mill, Underground, Unbuilding, and Mosque.
Five of these titles have been made into popular PBS television programs. Macaulay is perhaps best known for the award-winning international bestseller The Way Things Work, which was expanded and updated in 1998 and renamed The New Way Things Work. According to his biography, the human race’s great architectural and engineering accomplishments have been demystified through Macaulay’s elaborate show-and-tells.
This presentation is free and open to the public.. For more information, please call the NEC Danforth Library at 603-428-2344.
