Biography:
Tom Carroll enters his eighth season as the head coach for the Pilgrims in 2009-10. Carroll led his squad to a 15-10-2 overall record last season including a record of 9-8-2 in ECAC East/ NESCAC action. Over his time here at NEC Carroll has coached over 27 all-conference selections and two all-americans. Over his seven seasons coaching the Pilgrims Carroll has an impressive 124-58-11 record, including an ECAC East Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2004-05.
Carroll played for the University of Wisconsin Badgers and helped them win two NCAA Championships in 1981 and 1983 and a NCAA Runner-up finish in 1982. He received his Bachelors of Science from Wisconsin in 1984 and earned his Masters of Science in Administration from the University of Notre Dame and the Mendoza School of Business Administration in 1996.
He began his coaching career at Culver Military Academy and later served as the top assistant coach at the University of Notre Dame for 14 seasons. While at Notre Dame, Carroll recruited and coached 19 NHL Draft picks, numerous professional players, Academic and Athletic All-Americans as well as six players that participated in the World Junior Championships. He has been involved with USA Hockey national teams and numerous hockey camps.
Carroll also coached the Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL and set franchise records for wins after completing two seasons. He coached and/or recruited 11 NHL Draft picks to Des Moines and placed several players at NCAA schools.
