Katherine Van Weelden

Kathy VanWeelden is Director of the Danforth Library. Her AB is from Dartmouth College and her MLS is from SUNY Albany. She came to New England College in 1981 as the Evening Reference Librarian. She has served in a variety of positions including Natural Science Department Chair and Associate Library Director before becoming Library Director in 2004. Her mission is to provide a supportive and innovative learning environment for students and faculty within the library building as well as in the virtual environment for online learning.  Since becoming Director, she has lead a major renovation of the library building and for the future, is working on a renovation of the virtual environment.
