Do you have an interest in earning an advanced degree in education or want to work in academic administration? If so, your next step could be a Master of Education degree, a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS), or a Doctorate of Education in K-12 Leadership. A variety of concentrations are offered in the M.Ed. and CAGS programs: Literacy and Language Arts, Special Education, Curriculum and Instruction, School Climate Leadership and Facilitation, School Principal, or School District Superintendent.
Courses are offered on campus in Henniker, online, and in other school districts within New Hampshire and Maine (We can arrange to have a cohort in your school district). Courses are scheduled for late afternoon, evening, and/or weekend hours. Courses are generally run on a semester basis and students may enroll throughout the year. The next cohort will start the week of May 6, 2012 at the Winnisquam Regional High School.
The program consists of 37 credits taken over a two-year period and will be offered to teachers who have already achieved certification and individuals seeking initial or additional certification. A range of electives will be offered during the year and in summer institutes. Graduate students and NEC faculty will work as a learning community to address real world issues of teachers and schools. The culminating activity for the program will be an Action Research Project with results shared at an educational conference to be held at New England College.
England College has long been recognized for the quality of our bachelor’s and
