Melander Field Naming Initiative Exceeds $100,000 Goal

Dec 06, 2010

The initiative to name the new artificial turf field at New England College in honor of luminary professor Don Melander has surpassed its $100,000 goal. The field was dedicated to Professor Melander at a ribbon cutting ceremony during Alumni Weekend in October with hundreds of NEC faithful and Don's family in attendance.

Spearheaded by NEC Board of Trustee member Steve Geremia ’85, the effort raised over $100,000 and was comprised of 18 individuals who generously wanted to “stand up for Don.”

The College extends its deep appreciation to all who supported the effort to honor Don in this way. And, of course, congratulations again to Professor Don Melander!
