NEC Recognized as Founding Member of New Program

Dec 02, 2009

New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire, has been recognized as the first institution to join Colorado State University in the new SALUTE national honor society. The primary objective of the program is to recognize the dedication and contribution of student veterans and active duty military across the country.

Through a grant made possible by the American Council on Education and Wal-Mart, a group at Colorado State University instituted the first national honor society dedicated to students attending institutions of higher education that have served or are currently serving in the country’s armed services. Students inducted into the honor society include retirees, disabled veterans, active duty military, ROTC, National Guard, and reservists.

The first students to be inducted into the SALUTE national honor society at New England College will be recognized in May, 2010.
