NEC to Host 15th Annual Art and Essay Conference

Lynn Plourde, children's author and keynote speaker

Children’s author, Lynn Plourde, is the keynote speaker for the 15th Annual Art and Essay Conference sponsored by the Friends of New England College Library on Saturday, March 27. The program will be held in the Simon Center Great Room from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

This year’s theme is “Patterns.” Participants will learn and discuss how patterns are found in all aspects of life, whether it be indoors, outdoors, on our clothes, in art, or even in the foods that we eat.

Lynn Plourde has lived in Maine her entire life and has always loved words. She was a speech therapist in the public school system for 21 years before becoming a published author. She has produced more than twenty picture books, including Wild Child, Dino Pets, and School Picture Day.

The conference is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Meredith Bird-Miller, Assistant Professor of Education, at 603-428-2232.
