New England College Hosts Senate Debate

(l to r) Republican Kelly Ayotte and Democrat Paul Hodes

The Center for Civic Engagement at New England College hosted a debate for the 2010 general election race for U.S. Senator. The debate between Democrat Paul Hodes and Republican Kelly Ayotte was held at the Simon Center at New England College on October 11. NEC partnered with the Concord Monitor, New Hampshire Business Review, WMUR.com, and WGIR radio to sponsor the debate.

According to Dr. Wayne Lesperance, Director of the Center for Civic Engagement at New England College, “This type of discourse between candidates is a cornerstone of the political process in New Hampshire. We are pleased to provide a venue where citizens and students can address important issues directly with the candidates.”
