Presidential Candidate Buddy Roemer Attends College Convention 2012
Buddy Roemer, former Governor of Louisiana and Republican candidate for president, attended and gave a presentation at College Convention 2012 on Tuesday, January 3 at the Grappone Center in Concord, New Hampshire. Dr. Wayne F. Lesperance, Jr., Director of the Center for Civic Engagement at New England College, confirms the appearance by Roemer at the three-day convention-style event being held January 3rd through 6th. College Convention, the only program of its kind, brings together presidential candidates, surrogates, issue advocates, and the media, with college and high school students from across the country, for a first-hand look at the issues facing our country and the solutions offered by those who aspire to its highest office. Programming for College Convention 2012 includes presentations by presidential candidates, issue forums, workshops, and panel discussions, with those most closely involved in New Hampshire’s presidential primary.
“Governor Roemer’s participation in College Convention provides an excellent balance to the discussion on current topics of interest to New Hampshire voters,” states Dr. Lesperance. “We appreciate his commitment to this forum and his willingness share his views with young voters.”
According to Lesperance, all current presidential candidates have been invited to College Convention 2012. Additional announcements will be made as candidates confirm their participation.
