Presidential Candidate Rick Santorum Attends College Convention 2012
Rick Santorum, former U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania and a Republican candidate for president, attended and gave a presentation at College Convention 2012 on Thursday, January 5 at the Grappone Center in Concord, New Hampshire. Dr. Wayne F. Lesperance, Jr., Director of the Center for Civic Engagement at New England College, confirms the appearance by Santorum at the three-day convention-style event to be held January 3rd through 6th. College Convention, the only program of its kind, brings together presidential candidates, surrogates, issue advocates, and the media, with college and high school students from across the country, for a first-hand look at the issues facing our country and the solutions offered by those who aspire to its highest office. Programming for College Convention 2012 includes presentations by presidential candidates, issue forums, workshops, and panel discussions, with those most closely involved in New Hampshire’s presidential primary.
“Rick Santorum’s commitment to College Convention brings an important dimension to the Republican dialog before the New Hampshire primary,” states Dr. Lesperance. “Students from a variety of academic disciplines will have an unprecedented access to the candidates and the conversations that will shape their futures. We welcome Senator Santorum’s participation in College Convention, and his willingness to share his vision for the country.”
According to Lesperance, all current presidential candidates have been invited to College Convention 2012. Additional announcements will be made as candidates confirm their participation.
