Town Hall Meeting with Charlie Bass at NEC

Apr 19, 2010

Former Congressman Charlie Bass (R), candidate for the 2nd Congressional District, will hold a Town Hall Meeting at New England College in Henniker on Wednesday, April 28 at 6:00 p.m. in the Simon Center at 98 Bridge Street. The event, sponsored by the NEC College Republicans and the Center for Civic Engagement, is free and open to the public. Congressman Bass will discuss government spending, the deficit, health care, and national security, and will take questions from the audience.

New Hampshire’s Second Congressional District includes Cheshire, Coos, Grafton, and Sullivan Counties, and much of Hillsborough and Merrimack Counties. In addition, the Second Congressional District also includes the towns of Sanbornton, Tilton, Atkinson, Salem, and Windham.

Charlie Bass has served in both chambers of the New Hampshire legislature. From 1995 to 2007, he represented the Second Congressional District in the United States Congress. He serves on the Board of Managers at New England Wood Pellet and is a senior advisor to Laidlaw Energy Group. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and lives in Peterborough, NH.

New England College provides an open venue for political candidates wishing to address Town Hall style gatherings. In 2004, New England College welcomed all nine Democratic candidates in the presidential race. NEC was also the lead organizer for College Convention held during the 2004 and 2008 election cycles. For more information on the visit by Charlie Bass, please contact Wayne Lesperance, Associate Professor of Political Science, at 603-428-2295. Professor Lesperance is a frequent contributor to the dialog on public policy, the political process, and emerging trends in politics.
